Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
All Edith Wolford Elementary School parents are automatically members of the PTO—no fees required! Meetings are held monthly, typically on the second Thursday in the school cafeteria. Parents are encouraged to attend, and children are welcome.
PTO updates are shared via the Wolford Update emails and on the PTO Facebook page. For volunteer opportunities or event info, email edithwolfordpto@gmail.com.
Objectives
Promote the safety and welfare of children in the home, school, and community.

How to Get Involved
Event Planning
Holiday Event: Plan and execute a holiday-themed activity for students and families.
Annual Spring Fling & Basket Giveaway: Assist with planning, securing donations, and assembling baskets.
Fundraising
Restaurant Fundraisers: Organize restaurant events throughout the year.
Skate City Nights: Coordinate and promote this fundraising event.
Scholastic Book Fair & Holiday Shop: Help with setup, restocking, assisting shoppers, and checkout.
Woot Woot Committee
Monthly Wagon: Distribute treats to staff.
Staff Appreciation Events: Plan events to honor teachers and staff.
School Events
Health Jam, Fun Run, Field Day, Hearing and Vision Screening, Picture Day
Grants
Twice a year, the EWES PTO offers guardians, parents, teachers, and staff the opportunity to submit funding requests for current or new programs, specific grades or classrooms, or the school. The PTO reviews and votes on all requests that meet the submission criteria.
School Accountability Committee (SAC)
The SAC meets quarterly at Edith Wolford Elementary, working with staff to set goals for improving education and achievement.
Parents can learn about school spending priorities, provide input, understand the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP), and see how student growth is measured. All parents are encouraged to join! Sign up online.
What We Do
Recommend spending priorities
Advise on the school performance plan
Provide feedback to the District Accountability Committee (DAC) and Academy District 20 (ASD20) on principal evaluations
Increase parent engagement, especially for underrepresented groups
Assist ASD20 with parent engagement policy implementation
Help staff involve parents in READ, ICAP, and truancy plans
Expectations
Serve on SAC for at least one year
Attend all meetings when possible
Volunteers
A major component of school success is strong parent involvement. Our volunteers support teachers and staff, helping to enhance our children’s education. To volunteer, apply now on ASD20.org. After applying, new volunteers must attend an orientation. An online review will be provided for all returning volunteers.
