How to Get Involved

Event Planning

Volunteers are needed to help coordinate, brainstorm, promote, set up and clean up events. Most events also function as fundraisers for the PTO.

Holiday Event: A casual event for students and their families to enjoy a holiday-themed activity. The exact event is in the planning stage and we need volunteers who would like to help plan the event.

Spring Fling Event & Basket Giveaway: An annual event sponsored by the PTO that brings students, their families, and their friends to a night of fun. This year’s Spring Fling event will be at the end of Dr. Seuss week. Volunteers are requested to reach out to local businesses to inquire on and collect donations and assemble baskets. This a super fun event, and the students love it!

Fundraising

  • Restaurant Fundraisers: We will have restaurant fundraisers throughout the year. If you know of a place with a fundraiser and would like to help plan it, we would love the help.

  • Skate City Nights: PTO coordinates the dates for Skate City, which is a fun event for current and former students, parents, and staff to attend. It also raises money for the different school projects. This year, we have 4 Skate City Nights planned.

  • Scholastic Book Fair: Scholastic is the largest publisher of children’s books, and the Book Fair provides a great opportunity for students to choose books they love. The Scholastic Book Fair is held on-site and online. Volunteers are requested to help set up and tear down the displays, assist shoppers with their selections, and cash them out.

  • Holiday Shop: The perfect opportunity for students to shop for their family and friends. The EWE PTO works with a third party to set up a “shop” on the school stage. This event runs several days. Volunteers are requested to help set up and tear down the shop, restock as needed, assist shoppers with their selections, and cash them out.

Woot Woot Committee

Each month, the Woot Woot Wagon strolls the hallways filled with goodies donated by the parents and the EWE PTO. It’s a great way to engage Wolford’s wonderful staff, provide them with treats, and spread the love throughout the year! Volunteers are requested to “run” the wagon each month. Please contact the EWE PTO to volunteer.

In addition, the Woot Woot Committee organizes teacher and staff appreciation events during the year.

PTO Grants

Twice a year, the EWE PTO provides guardians, parents, teachers, and staff with the opportunity to submit funding requests aimed at benefiting a current/new program, a specific grade or classroom, or the school. The PTO considers and votes on all requests that meet the submission criteria.

School Events Support

PTO assists the administration and teachers with providing volunteers for various school functions. Often we also help with other aspects of planning. A few of the school events that need volunteers:

  • Health Jam

  • Fun Run

  • Field Day

  • Hearing and Vision Screening

  • Picture Day
